MEET CINDY - Sex Therapist in Los Angeles

Working With The Mind Body Connection

As a body-centered psychotherapist specializing in sex therapy, my mission is to help my clients navigate their sexual and relationship struggles with a focus on mind-body integration. My training, including somatic experiencing, IFS (internal family systems) and brainspotting for trauma-related issues, enables me to assess the whole person so that physical, mental and emotional healing is possible.

My Journey

I learned to face my own fears sitting on the couch as a client in individual and couples therapy. It lead me to finding more joy, courage and aliveness in myself and in the world. The inspiration of my personal journey led to my professional calling as a therapist to help others discover their true potential for living a life filled with connection and meaning.

As A Sex Therapist

As an AASECT certified sex therapist, I work using a non-judgmental and sex positive lens with all genders and sexual identities. I work with those looking to explore everything from gender expression, monogamy and consensual kink to sexual compulsivity. Where you land on that spectrum and how it supports your overall health and self-expression are what we can explore together.

Sexual Obstacles That May Be Holding You Back

There are dozens of reasons why you may find your life and sexual experiences are not what they could be. Your reasons for seeking help may be rooted in physical or mental trauma, or your body needs help overcoming physical limitations and conditions that influence your sexuality.

There is no list of parameters required for sex therapy, only a desire to explore your mind, body and emotions and how they work together.

Some of the conditions that sex therapy can assist with:

  • Past traumas - physical or emotional

  • Pain during sex

  • Sexual dysfunctions like trouble reaching orgasm or premature ejaculation

  • Sexual compulsivity

  • Mental health struggles like depression and anxiety

There are also relationship struggles that seep into sexual health:

  • Miscommunications

  • Differing libidos

  • A lack of experience or education about the body

  • Societal influences that create shame or discomfort

  • Or, there may be a mystery trigger that impacts your sexual health that needs unraveling.

How I can help

My role is to partner with you to help you successfully reach your goals. I will assist you to embody and listen to your true self. You may prefer individual therapy or, if partnered, couples therapy sessions.

As a sex therapist in Los Angeles, I have grown to love working with couples. Learning how to trust, love, and play with your partner whole-heartedly is one of the scariest and most rewarding gifts we get to experience.

Although I continue to attend trainings and keep current on new research, my most significant learning has been being in relationship with my intimate partner of 24 years.

Sex Coaching

I also provide Sex Coaching Services where we can focus on sexual health goals. This approach remains non-judgmental, embracing individual experiences, emotions, and personal narratives without criticism. We create a supportive space where exploration happens through mutual understanding and collaboration. Sex coaching does not include delving into the past so much as the focus is on moving forward.

You can cultivate self-awareness, develop body-positive perspectives, and navigate sexual wellness with confidence and care.
